Exploration Manager
The Role
Matsa Resources Limited is an ASX listed gold explorer and mining company in the North Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. Matsa has approx. 450km2 of highly prospective tenements within is Lake Carey Gold Project, where there are 3 approved Mining operations including the high-grade Devon Pit Gold Mine which is currently in operation and cashflow positive. The exploration tenements include the Fortitude North exploration prospect which has a resource target of 10Mt to 23Mt tons at between 2 and 2.5g/t defining between 643,000 and 1,850,000 ounce of gold.
The successful candidate will lead the team to success in the shortest time possible. The Matsa board have approved a 20,000m drilling programme which will keep the team busy, before the team commences exploration at Matsa next exciting targets.
Matsa requires the services of a highly motivated, technically superior person to bring this exploration target to existence.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the design, execution and delivery of exploration programs, working closely with the Board, senior management and site-based technical teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the Company’s tenement portfolio, including reporting, assessments and forward strategy
- Providing technical expertise and recommendations to corporate, operations and exploration functions
- Developing and implementing exploration programs to advance Lake Carey’s growth pipeline
- Designing and managing drilling campaigns from target generation through to execution
- Overseeing geological systems, data integrity and database management
- Collaborating with the Senior Resource Geologist to grow and enhance the Company’s resource inventory
- Mentoring junior geologists and building a high-performance exploration culture
- Supporting the integration of exploration outcomes into development and operational planning
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong technical capability, leadership experience and a practical, delivery-focused approach.
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Geology or a related discipline
- Strong experience in WA gold geology and mineralising systems
- Sound understanding of gold mineralisation models and target generation
- Experience in geochemical and geophysical survey design and interpretation
- Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Datashed, Logchief, Surpac, Leapfrog or similar
- Proven leadership skills with a hands-on, collaborative style
- Experience across other commodities (desirable)
